BORDER LEICESTER SALES
The autumn breeding sales have shown a marked improvement in demand for Border Leicester rams as well as females, with all lots being cleared and other buyers still looking for stock.
At the first main sale at Kelso Ram Sales the 44 rams forward all were sold to average £599, up from £285 the previous year. Show judge Neil Hamilton of Earlside chose Border Leicester Society President Sandy Watson's shearling for his champion. This Ditton Olympic son proved to be an excellent choice as Mr. R. Strawhorn paid the top price of £1,200.
